The magnificent estate of Ashton Court covers 850 acres of woods and grassland with breathtaking views over the city of Bristol. This historic public space is one of the finest spots to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city – without leaving it at all! Set just over the historic Suspension Bridge, Ashton Court is one of Bristol's best kept secrets.
The gardens and grounds of the stunning mansion, (a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan mansion build around a 15th Century core), make an ideal spot for a stroll or picnic.
It is however, the stunning natural heritage that makes Ashton Court Estate so special – it’s a nationally important site for wildlife, insects and trees. There is both a red deer and fallow deer park – allowing you to get up-close to animals that have been associated with the estate since 1392.
Festival productions normally take place at the rear of the main house, at the foot of the sweeping drive.
